What services does the graphics department offer?
We support you in the design of all desired print products. We can also create infographics, logos or 2D animations for you.
How do I place a new order?
Please send us a request by e-mail to grafik∂km.kit.edu. Ideally, you should include a short briefing. (What is needed, deadline, size, intended use, design requirements?)
Do I have to pay for the services of the graphics department?
You will be invoiced via our order form. -->
Do I have to adhere to a corporate design (CD)?
Yes, the official KIT corporate design must be used for publications in the name of KIT. We ensure that logos, corporate typeface and the KIT colors are used correctly. We can also implement other desired CDs (e.g. Helmholtz, Baden-Württemberg CD) for you.
We are also happy to take on designs that do not have to be in an official corporate design.

How long is the lead time for an order?
That depends on the scope. Simple corrections usually take 2-3 working days, for more complex orders or layouts you should allow at least 2-6 weeks. Please inquire early!
In which format should I deliver my content?
- Texts: As an unformatted Word file.
- Images: High-resolution (min. 300 dpi) as JPG, TIFF or PNG.
- Graphics/logos: Ideally as vector graphics (EPS, SVG or PDF).
Does graphics department also create web graphics?
Yes, we create banners, icons and social media assets that are optimized for display on screens. We can also create animations in 2D. Please let us know your desired format.
Will the graphics department also print?
We prepare the data for printing. As a rule, you have to order the actual print job yourself from the KIT in-house print shop or external service providers.
If you want to print formats larger than DIN A3, we can plot them on various papers using our large-format plotters and then have them further processed. We will be happy to advise you on this.
Where can I find the official KIT templates to design myself?
You can find templates for PowerPoint and Latex here. For professional graphics software (InDesign), you can request templates directly from us.
