Welcome to the Dîner au KIT!
Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive feedback on last year’s open-air picnic, Dîner au KIT is back for a second round!
On 17 July 2026, Campus South will once again become the setting for a very special KIT event. From 6:00 p.m. onwards, long tables made from traditional beer garden furniture will be waiting for you, where we will raise a glass together to celebrate the unique and vibrant KIT community.
Not only students and staff are invited, but also our alumni who continue to feel connected to KIT. Whether you are currently working or studying at KIT, or returning as a graduate to your former place of activity, Dîner au KIT offers the perfect setting for encounters across generations.
Pack your picnic basket with your own three-course menu, grab your colleagues, fellow students, or former classmates, and enjoy a summer evening in the open air. Dîner au KIT is the ideal opportunity to strike up conversations, revive old contacts, build new networks, and celebrate working, studying, and being part of the KIT community in a relaxed atmosphere.
Once again, Dîner au KIT will be accompanied by a varied supporting program, and refreshing drinks will of course be provided—creating the perfect conditions for an all-around successful evening.
So, be sure to register by 21 June and become part of Dîner au KIT 2026—we look forward to welcoming students, staff, and alumni alike!

Important Information: Unfortunately, due to the poor weather forecast, the Dîner au KIT cannot take place outdoors on the campus as planned. To avoid having to cancel the event entirely, we have decided to set up beer benches in various lobbies at KIT and use those spaces instead.
We will first open the lobbies of the Mathematics Building (Bldg. 20.30) and the Audimax (Bldg. 30.95). Once those are full, we’ll open the InformatiKOM lobby (Bldg. 50.19) and the Tullahalle (Bldg. 11.40).
Be sure to download the “KIT Event” app (see link below). Starting at 6:00 p.m., we’ll use the app to let you know which lobbies still have enough space available.
Important: The seating arrangement we previously shared with you is no longer valid.
"You don't just see your direct colleagues here, but also others you haven't met for a long time."- Simon Ramsteiner, alumnus of the KIT Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
